Even if the headphone jack is slowly becoming an outdated technology in smartphones, some Android OEMs have continued offering it with their flagship products. Samsung is one such manufacturer.
Although if a current report is to be believed, this won’t be the case for long. According to well-known publication ETNews who spoke to an industry source, Samsung might start offering flagships sans the 3.5mm headphone jack as soon as next fall.

The Galaxy S10 doesn’t appear to be getting this treatment, though. Instead, the report claims that the first Samsung premium device to ditch the jack could be either the Galaxy Note 10 or the Galaxy S11. The company is currently in the process of deciding which device will be first in line for the change.
The source hasn’t revealed why Samsung is contemplating getting rid of the headphone jack. But like other phone makers before it, the Korean tech giant is probably merely looking to save up space.
In a world where Android manufacturers are increasingly making the decision to remove the jack, Samsung will probably follow suit sooner or later. Even OnePlus, a company who so far refused to remove the jack from its products will be launching its next-gen OnePlus 6T flagship without one.
