Introduced in early 2018, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime 2 ships with with outdated Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. But the good news is that the phone is in the process of getting the Android 8.0 Oreo update in India, UAE and Turkey.
The Galaxy J7 Prime 2 (SM-G611F) is being updated to firmware version G611FXXU1BRI6 in the United Arab Emirates and Turkey, while the India-bound models are getting bumped up to G611FDDU1BRI5. On top of bringing the Android 8.0 update on board the device, the new build also includes the latest October security patch.

Once the new update is installed on your Galaxy J7 Prime 2, you’ll be able to start using new features such as Picture-in-Picture mode, smart text select, notification dots, autofill passwords in apps, snooze notifications and much more.
Like it’s always the case with updates, make sure you are connected to a stable Wi-Fi hotspot before you start your download. On top of that, it’s recommended that you have at least 50% battery.
