Over the past two or so weeks, Samsung has been pushing Android Oreo updates left, right and center, with a series of Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 variants among the beneficiaries of these releases.
This list is growing even bigger with the addition of the Galaxy J7 2017, which is now receiving an update that installs Android 8.1 Oreo. The update carries software version J730FMXXU4BRI3, meaning we are looking at the European model, but of course, the update is directed to all J7 2017 units with model number SM-J730F regardless of where you are, so watch out for it.

It will arrive over the air and since the rollout has just begun, it may take several days before all Galaxy J7 2017 units receive the OTA download notification. You can try forcing the update via the Settings menu, but there’s no guarantee this will get you the new update right away, so keep nagging that software update button to improve your chances.
