Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 flip phone launched in South Korea; priced at $260

Just two days back we reported about the upcoming flip phone from Samsung, bearing model number SM-G1650. Thanks to Samsung we don’t have to refer to it as “SM-G1650” anymore because Samsung has officially announced the device as Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 in South Korea. This is the international variant of Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 that was launched in China last year.

The Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 is a combination of folder-based hardware (flip phone) and user-friendly software (Android). You get to experience the old intuitive flip phone with convenient functions of smartphones.

As far as the specs are concerned, the Galaxy Folder 2 flip phone features a 96.6mm large screen display with stylish yet retro metal design. Galaxy Folder 2 has a large keyless pad that ensures fewer typos.

Further, about the design, the flip smartphone features separate physical buttons for contact, text, camera, and other functions. You also get a separate ‘social app key’, which can be used as a shortcut for social apps.

Under the hood, you get 1.4GHz quad-core processor coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB memory. It also supports Micro SD slot, which can be expanded up to 256GB. The smartphone runs on 1,950mAh removable battery and supports Android 6.0. It boasts of an 8MP rear snapper with LED flash and 5MP selfie shooter.

Interestingly, Samsung has increased the volume of ringtones from 11 levels to 13 levels for middle-aged people. Besides that, Galaxy Folder 2 is equipped with 15 special ringtones.

Galaxy Folder 2, which is priced at 297,000 won ($260), will come in two color options of black and burgundy. There will be 2 models, LTE and 3G model.
