Being officially supported means that the Galaxy A7 2017 will be receiving TWRP updates and patches together with the rest of the other supported devices. It also means that users will be able to download the latest recovery images from the developer’s official website or directly from the Play Store.

In case you don’t know TWRP is an open source custom recovery developed for Android devices. It’s generally installed by users who are into rooting. This enables users to install third-party ROMs which unlock extra functionalities on their devices. And this is not possible without a custom recovery.

Anyway, installing TWRP recovery is a pretty complex process, so if you are not familiar with the whole process of rooting a smartphone, we recommend you sit this one out. Or at least try to get more familiarized with the process before you try it yourself.
