A few weeks ago, a sketchy rumor appeared online suggesting that Samsung had plans to launch a new Galaxy P series in China. It then emerged that the first device would be called the Galaxy P1 and that it would support in-display fingerprint scanning, subsequently making it the first of its kind from Samsung. A few days ago, another rumor pointed out that this device will, in fact, be called the Galaxy P30, but it won’t have an in-display fingerprint scanner as earlier reported.

Now, fresh reports have just emerged adding even more confusion to the whole story with claims that all this time, talks of the Galaxy P30 have all been about a non-existent device.

While the latest statement comes from a tipster (IceUniverse) with a much better track record with Samsung devices compared to the one (MMDDJ) who (arguably) initiated the story about the alleged Galaxy P series, it’s hard to find a common ground here.

It had been claimed that the Galaxy P30 would be launched this Q4 2018 and that it would be a China-exclusive phone powered by a non-existent Qualcomm Snapdragon 720 processor, 6GB RAM, and 128GB storage, but now it turns out someone was wrong. Or maybe someone is wrong. Well, on this one, our guess is as good as yours!

Only time will tell.
