We think a bunch of One M9 users are gonna fall in love with Rogers today, as they just announced what the M9 users have been waiting so patiently to hear. That, the Android 7.0 Nougat update for One M9 is coming soon.
Now, we knew for long that HTC is looking to update its 10, One M9 and One A9 to Android Nougat before the end of December. So, One M9 had it coming already. But to hear it from a carrier adds to its excitement a bit. No? What do you think?
Anyway, Rogers remained shy of throwing an exact One M9 Nougat release date into the mix, but because they don’t over-do it, ever, we think they have a reasonable period which you and us can call coming soon. If you ask us, we’d say maximum of 3-4 weeks, when we could see HTC One M9 rock Android 7.0 update on Rogers, and elsewhere. So, yes definitely before December, and it would be a stable release, like the HTC 10 Nougat we’re expecting.
We’ve grown accustomed to see Nougat update drop for European or international variants before hitting carriers because of the extra testing latter do, but there have been some exceptions too. Like, LG releasing the G5 Nougat update at Sprint first (although it first arrived in Korea, its homeland).
But if we talk HTC, the European HTC 10 looks all-set for Nougat update, with even screenshots doing the rounds on the web now.
Anyway, if you ever doubted HTC on One M9 Nougat, here’s a proof that HTC has been working cool behind the scenes, and may soon get you 7.0 on One M9.
