Samsung’s Android Pie rollout began a bit late in January 2019 when the company started rolling out Android 9 for Galaxy S9 and S9 Plus. Since then, various Galaxy Samsung devices have received the One UI based Android Pie update, including Galaxy S8, Note 9, Note 8, and few Galaxy A, Galaxy J and Galaxy M handsets.
Now is the turn of Galaxy J3 handset in Canada. Both Telus and Rogers have confirmed that the J3 2018 edition will be receiving Android Pie soon.
Rogers clearly states that it’s the Galaxy J3 2018 that is up for Android Pie One UI update on July 21 while Telus is simply quoting the J3 for Pie on July 22, while listing a security update for J3 2018. We think it’s the J3 2018 that will be receiving the One UI update, but we will know for sure soon enough.
Other carriers should be following the suit too pretty soon, even on the same day. If you own a Galaxy J3 in Canada, be sure to check for an update after July 21.
