What to Know
-
This achievement is a long-term project that requires specific actions in Chapters 2, 4, and 7.
-
You must manually locate and deliver electronic parts from a transit ticket machine to Susan in the early game.
-
Beyond the fetch quest, you must actually play and top the leaderboards of three distinct retro mini-games.
- Each repair and high score serves as a prerequisite for the next machine’s availability in later chapters.
The pursuit of the Old School achievement in Replaced is a nostalgic journey through the history of Phoenix-City’s entertainment. By assisting Susan with her technical restoration projects, you can bring life back to the local arcade and prove your reflexes are still sharp.
Chapter 2: Restoring the First Machine
The first step of the journey takes place early in the game when you have access to the communal living areas.
Locating Susan
Firstly, you’ll have to locate Susan. For this, move into Western Station.

Move down.

Go to the left.

Move right.

Talking to Susan
Find Susan in the hub area near the broken arcade cabinet.

Upon speaking with her, you will learn that the machine is non-functional due to missing hardware. She tasks you with finding specific parts to get the electronics running again.
Scavenging the Ticket Machine
To locate the electronic components, go back out. Start with going left first.

Move up and out.

Go left.

Head toward the transit station.

Locate the electronic ticket machine near the platform entrance.

By interacting with it, you can salvage the necessary electronic components.

These parts are essential for Susan to bridge the power to the arcade’s screen.
The First High Score
Deliver the components to Susan.

Once she repairs the arcade, step up to the machine and play the mini-game.

You must play until you surpass the current high score. Once your name is at the top of the leaderboard, you are ready to progress the story.

Chapter 4: The Second Cabinet
As the narrative moves into Chapter 4, the hub area evolves, and Susan continues her restoration efforts.
Returning to the Arcade
Visit the arcade section of the hub once again. You will find that Susan has successfully repaired a second machine.

Mastering the Second Mini-Game
Interact with this new machine to play a different retro-style game. Just as before, you must focus on the mechanics of this specific title and play until you have eclipsed the existing high score.

Chapter 7: The Final Challenge
The final requirement for the achievement occurs during Chapter 7, where the ultimate arcade challenge awaits.
The Final Repair
Head to the arcade area one last time. Susan will have finished her work on the final machine in the collection.

This game is the most difficult of the three and requires significant concentration to master.
Beating the Ultimate Score
To trigger the achievement, you must play this final game and reach a score of at least 22076, surpassing the previous high score of 22075.

This will likely take several attempts as the difficulty ramps up significantly the longer the game lasts.
Earning Old School
Once you have officially beaten the score of 22075 on this third machine, the Old School achievement will unlock, signifying your status as the ultimate retro gamer in the wasteland.
By taking the time to scavenge parts in the early game and returning to the arcade in later chapters, you can secure one of the most unique and nostalgic rewards Phoenix-City has to offer.
