Very recently, Realme had spoken about the release of Android 9 Pie for its Realme 1 and Realme 2 phones on Twitter. However, the tweet has since been deleted which makes us wonder whether the OPPO sub-brand is actually ready with the update for the above-mentioned phones or not.
It must be noted that the tweet confirming the update wasn’t a parent tweet, but was rather a reply to a user’s question asking the support handle of the company about the status of the Android Pie update. While the tweet did confirm that the update for Realme 1 and Realme 2 phones were “coming soon”, it didn’t mention a specific date.

It is interesting to note that the company very recently announced the timeline for its custom UI, ColorsOS 5.2 update for all its smartphones. So, it might be the case that Realme wants to get done with this first before releasing the Pie update or go around announcing it.

It may also be possible that the update is not ready yet and may take longer than expected to arrive. So, to prevent consumers from bombarding them with questions on a daily basis, they may have thought it prudent to delete the tweet for the time being and do a formal announcement as and when they’re ready with the update.
Interestingly, just last week Realme hiked the price of Realme 2 and Realme C1 phones by about INR 500 and INR 1,000 respectively for the 3GB RAM/32 GB ROM version. The ColorOS 5.2 release is already in motion with a wider release expected on November 25.
