There’s a new update for the gaming-focused Razer Phone that installs Android 8.1 Oreo to the handset. The update is rolling out over the air and is hitting both global and carrier versions of the phone.
Those using the global version are receiving an update with software version OPM1.171019.011-RZR-180509.5038 while those on the carrier version should watch out for software version OPM1.171019.011-CKH-180509.5037.
Strangely, the update comes only hours after the company detailed this month’s Android security patches for the Razer Phone, but that has become less important now that Oreo 8.1 is here. Of course, the update will also install the latest security patches and improve performance, among other things.
