Last year in December, Qualcomm released the powerful Snapdragon 835 processor for high-end devices. Many new flagship devices such as Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+, and Xiaomi Mi6 are powered by this SoC.

Lately, we have been hearing rumors about the new SoC that could be released by Qualcomm. The new SoC that goes by the moniker Snapdragon 836 is an incremental successor to the Snapdragon 835.

Today, a new leak has surfaced online on the popular Weibo site, which suggests that the Snapdragon 836 could release next month i.e. July. This is not the first time that Qualcomm would release an incremental successor to its SoC. Last year, Qualcomm released Snapdragon 821 SoC, which is an incremental successor to the Snapdragon 820. This Snapdragon 821 SoC was present in the new LG G6 and 2016’s Google Pixel and Pixel XL.

Besides that, the new leak also suggests that the upcoming SoC for the high-end devices, Snapdragon 845, would see the light of the day in January 2018.

Further, there won’t be many significant improvements in Snapdragon 836 as the best will be saved for Snapdragon 845, however, the Snapdragon 836, like the 835, will be based on Samsung’s own 10-nanometer FinFET process.
