Korean based Pantech seems to be on a roll with two new devices appearing on GL bench mark test results. A few days ago we came across the Pantech manufactured Vega PTL21 which featured touch-less sensor based gesture operation, announced by Japanese operator KDDI. Pantech seems to  be having some more high-end devices in its armoury.

A smartphone device manufactured by Pantech, model numbered EF52S has appeared in GL Benchmark tests, and based on the results seem to indicate the following specs:

  • Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean OS
  • 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro Processor
  • Adreno 320 GPU
  • HD Display resolution of 1280 x 720 pixel resolution

Based on the device fingerprint registered on GL benchmark, this device seems to be headed towards SK Telecom, in Pantech’s home base – South Korea.

A second device, again by pantech, model number P5100, code name Kelly, seems to have the makings of a tablet device based on the benchmark measurement results, and the following specs have been deduced:

  • Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich
  • 1.3 GHz quad-core NVIDIA Tegra 3
  • WXGA Display – 1280 x 800 pixels resolution
  • On screen  Navigation keys

Now comes the interesting part- the device fingerprint for the P5100 Kelly, seems to indicate that it is meant to be introduced in the United States through none other than AT&T. Incidentally, Pantech USA has been selling  Pantech phones and tablets  through AT&T for a while now, and this new device seems to be one of their planned high-end tablet alternatives to the biggie brands.

While no other details are available at this point, it does appear that Pantech is bent on producing some high-quality devices with top of the line specs and taking the battle to the big guys, be it on home ground or outside.
