How to unlock Sunscorch Desert in Prospecting
Start at Astral Caverns, help the Cave Diver rebuild his boat, then travel through the underground passage to Sunscorch Desert.

Head to Astral Caverns and look beside the Alien Wreck excavation site for the new passage.

First actions in Sunscorch Desert
After arriving, claim Sandstorm Stream immediately so you never have to repeat the full unlock route just to return. The starting area includes village NPCs such as a Blacksmith and Crafting station, along with several quest-givers spread through the settlement and nearby desert.
Check the village NPCs before shopping, because the blueprint quests demand large material totals and rare items. Then find the Merchant to see the new sluice, and continue around the area until every waypoint is claimed.
The last waypoint is beside a rock near the new pen and shovel. Claim that before inspecting the tools, since it completes the waypoint sweep for the new zone.

The changelog lists four new quests, and the desert route also includes an Environmentalist quest after the initial village tasks. The Part 1 area has several active quest hooks, with three blueprint-related tasks in the new desert area.
Start banking the requirements first: Sand Steel, Jasper, Agate, Eye of the Sands, desert materials, and Key of Life are the main targets for blueprint progression.

The new pen, shovel, and sluice are extreme late-game purchases at $100 trillion each. The pen and shovel currently use Meteor set passives, but the changelog says those passives will change later.
Use the visible shop stats to plan your savings route, then prioritize the pen or shovel based on whether you need Luck, Capacity, Dig Strength, or Toughness first.
Starlight Wings, Dredge Ring, and Ring of Stars changes
The update also adjusts existing equipment. Starlight Wings now gives less luck, Dredge Ring now has Modifier Boost, and Ring of Stars has higher luck.
If your setup depends on luck stacking or modifier farming, check your equipment page before starting a long desert grind. The Dredge Ring change is especially relevant if you were waiting for more modifier-focused options.
Sunscorch Desert is labeled Part 1, and the large pyramid is the main future hook. Right now, there is no entrance route into it.
