- Green: The guessed player matches the mystery player exactly in that column.
- Yellow in the Team column: The mystery player previously played for the guessed player’s team.
- Yellow in the Position column: The mystery player plays at least one of the guessed player’s positions.
- Yellow in the Height, Age or Number column: The mystery player’s value differs from the guessed player’s by at most two, with height counted in inches.
- Arrows: In the Height, Age and Number columns, an up arrow means the mystery player’s value is higher than the guessed player’s, and a down arrow means it is lower.
- Show Silhouette: This button shows a silhouette of the mystery player as a hint.

- Read the group clues: Check the Conference and Division cells first. A green cell means the mystery player’s team shares that conference or division with the guessed player’s team, ruling out teams outside it.
