Not too long ago, OnePlus decided to follow suit with Google and announce the exact dates for when the software support for all of its current devices will end. As the principle goes, 12 months of major software update support to device and 18 months of security updates is what was guaranteed to the all the devices, including the two-year-old OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. The flagship killer devices from 2016 are expected to receive software updates until November 2018.

While the public release for software updates for the two devices has halted for a couple of months, the members of the OxygenOS Open Beta program are receiving some good news. The OxygenOS Beta 30 for the OnePlus 3 and the OxygenOS 39 for the OnePlus 3T respectively, are now rolling out, bringing a bunch of new features to both the devices. Despite the different versions, the software update is identical with features such as improved search tags, optimized camera switching and other features packed in.

However, the update does not bring the software bump to Android 8.1 which several users were expecting to be the final goodbye update from OnePlus to its flagship device from two years ago. It isn’t clear whether this is going to be the final OxygenOS Beta update for the two devices, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated about it.
