The OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T received a new software update late last month which brought along some new features and improvements to the phones. OnePlus had delivered the Android 8.0 Oreo update for both these devices in November last year.
If you own the OnePlus 3/3T, then you may have already received the OxygenOS 5.0.1 software update. We’re in the second week of January 2018 now, so yes we’re a little late with this news. However, if you haven’t installed the update or haven’t been notified, then we recommend you check the System Update option on your device.
OnePlus Oreo update release date
OxygenOS 5.0.1 brings a couple of new features to the OnePlus 3 and 3T. Firstly, the devices get support for aptX HD, which will improve the Bluetooth audio. There’s a new Wi-Fi hotspot device manager and a Soft screen calibration option as well.
Apart from those new additions and improvements, the update will install the December Android security patch on the devices and fix some general bugs. And that’s about it. If you haven’t updated yet, then you definitely should now. We’ve included the full firmware(1.47GB) download links below in case you want to install it manually.
