The Oppo F1s was released only a few months ago, but it will most likely never get the Android Nougat update. Oppo launched the selfie focused F1s with Android 5.1 Lollipop on board. That’s a 2 year old OS on a phone that was released around the time Nougat was available.
Oppo has not given any details on whether the F1s will get the Nougat update, but then again, the company is known for not updating its devices. For example, on the Oppo Community Forum, a representative stated that they are just working on the Marshmallow update for the F1s.
The selfie focused smartphone from Oppo has pretty decent specs. You get a 5.5inch 720p display, a Mediatek MT6755 processor, 3GB or 4GB of RAM, 32 or 64GB of storage, 13MP rear camera, and a 3075mAh battery. There’s a 16MP camera at the front for selfie fans.
Oppo F1s Nougat update: What to expect?
It is best not to expect the F1s to be update to Android 7.0 Nougat. The company is still working on a Marshmallow update, so it is pretty much obvious that Nougat will not arrive.
Oppo only introduced Android Marshmallow with the R9 series, so we will have to see if that gets Android Nougat first. Another Oppo smartphone, the Find 9, which is rumored to be available by March next year, will also run Marshmallow.
Of course, some devices from Oppo do already have CyanogenMod support and can run Nougat. The devices do support the OS, but Oppo is not ready to update or is just too lazy to do so.
