OnLive Plans a Wireless Controller for Android Phones and Tablets. Would be Compatible with other Platforms too!

This is amazing, it really looks like the future of gaming. OnLive looks to make a universal wireless controller that would allow user to play any game instantly — all you need is a good internet connection. OnLive is a service which currently allows one to play a game on PC/Mac using its software and wireless controller. What’s going to be so incredible is that OnLive has some plans for Android platform. it’s making a wireless controller for Android, compatible with both phones and tablets, which will allow user to play OnLive games instantly using Internet, with Wi-Fi preferred.

Here’s a text of what Steve Perlman (CEO and Founder of OnLive) said:

We set out to make OnLive available everywhere. Now that this is a reality, consumers need a way to enjoy the full OnLive experience on any device. The new OnLive Universal Wireless Controller places high-quality gameplay in your hands whether on a TV, computer, tablet/smartphone device or on future OnLive-compatible devices yet to be introduced.

OnLive team announced their wireless controller and demonstrated the above at the Qualcomm’s Uplinq event yesterday. The games need to be compatible with OnLive. The service hasn’t got all the great titles but it has already got enough titles to take your gaming on android — as and when launched — to much higher level. For example, you might even be able to play a game on your android phone while in train and then resume it on your PC/Mac when home. It sounds incredible, and future-oriented, right?
