OnePlus has released the second Android 8.0 Oreo beta for the OnePlus 5 and it is currently rolling out to beta users. The second beta includes several bug fixes and improvements, which is what you can expect from a beta release.

OxygenOS Open Beta 2 is also available as a download, so you can manually install it. If you are already running the first beta, you will receive it as an OTA. The latest beta includes fixes for the Launcher, the Camera app, the Files Manager, November Android security patch and several system improvements.

Common OnePlus 5 Oreo problems and fixes

In the previous beta, the launcher had issues with widgets and shortcuts, which are now fixed. There are a few UI changes in the camera app, and the Files manager app gets support for f4v video format. The Files manager also gets speed improvements when deleting large files. Bugs related to the Parallel app and Picture-in-Picture have also been fixed.

Apart from that, improvements have been made to the Reading Mode, Vibration, Bluetooth audio, and the security of the device. That’s about it. The final stable Android Oreo release for the OnePlus 5 is said to arrive by the end of this month or early January 2018. OnePlus hasn’t released the Oreo beta for the OnePlus 5T yet.
