OnePlus 5 is coming for sure and will land this summer, the much loved Chinese OEM OnePlus has confirmed, The Verge reported. Speculations were rife that OnePlus will release its flagship phone soon with premium design and top of the end internal hardware. In fact, we have seen most of its specs already, thanks to the ever pouring leaks. But the release date was no where in sight. With the announcement of a summer release we do get a rough idea that the OnePlus 5 should be officially announced anytime before September. It may be next month or at most July.

Although successor to OnePlus 3, the phone will be called OnePlus 5 and not OnePlus 4 plainly because the number ‘4’ is considered unlucky by the Chinese. And who would want to take chances with a flagship product after all.

The phone is expected to come in a glass body with dual edge display. The SoC on board will be Snapdragon 835 paired with 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. There could also be another higher variant with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage, as per a leak. Now, if this turns out to be true, it will be a warning bell for other smartphone manufacturers.

Other features include an impressive 23MP rear camera and a 16MP front camera. It is said to carry 3600 mAh battery with Dash Charge support for quick charging. The phone will be shipped with Android 7.1.1 OS.
