A few years ago, OnePlus was the rage when it skipped the OnePlus 2 update to Android Nougat against all odds. But a few years on, it appears the company has picked up a few lessons about keeping consumers happy.
OnePlus 3 and 3T users will agree that the duo is still one of the best performers despite having been around for over two years. To make it even better, OnePlus has promised to update it to Android P when the time comes, something that would make it one of the first Android devices to receive up to three major OS upgrades.

Launched with Android Marshmallow, OnePlus has already updated both phones to Android 8.0 Oreo and apparently, it will skip the update to 8.1 in favor of Android P, a trade-off most of us would be willing to accept.
Of course, we know that OnePlus 3 and 3T won’t suddenly become the priority when Android P starts rolling out. First will be the new kid on the block, OnePlus 6, followed by last year’s OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T and later on the 2016 duo will join the party. In short, we are looking at a possible 2019 release date, so sit tight.
