After giving the OnePlus 5T users Oreo beta as their New year gift, the guys at OnePlus are now handing the Face Unlock feature to OnePlus 5 users as their gift for the occasion. The new update that comes as Open beta 3, gets the OnePlus 5 users the much coveted Face Unlock feature which initially debuted on OnePlus devices with the OnePlus 5T.
The Open Beta 3 update is sized about 1.6GB and carries the software version OP5_O2_Open_3.
FYI, the Oreo rollout for OnePlus 5 has begun only recently, on December 24 to be exact. If you are on a beta software right now, your OnePlus 5 would shortly receive an OTA notification for the Open beta 3 update, as shown at the top.

Changelog: The latest OnePlus 5 update looks to be based on Android 8.0 only (no 8.1 yet!), but besides the Face Unlock, what you are getting is not much: There is a new app shortcut on the launcher of the Recording app, fixes for vibration and 5G Wi-Fi, General bug fixes, and the December 2017 security patch.
