OnePlus is one of the best non-Google smartphone vendors when it comes to regular software support. This is aided by the fact that the company runs an Open Beta program that welcomes the public to try unreleased features.
If you are part of this program on your OnePlus 5 or OnePlus 5T, there is a new Open Beta update available for your device. The former is receiving Open Beta 29 while the latter’s is Open Beta 27, other than that, the changelog is the same, as captured below.
Changelog
- Screenshot UI optimizations
- Improved color adaptation for cards in the shelf (Launcher)
- OnePlus Switch now supports permissions migration for applications
- More details added to weather warnings, weather timeline now follows system time format
- UI optimizations for the Phone app
- General bug fixes
OnePlus has just released the two Open Betas and given the nature of OTA updates, it may take some time before all units receive the download notification, so be sure to keep your cool.
When we get hold of the download files, we will update the respective pages below with the links to the ROM for manual download, but until then, you may want to keep nagging the software update section in the settings menu.
