OnePlus has released a new Oreo beta build for the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T. The update includes several improvements, bug fixes, and a new Android security patch. It is currently available as an OTA to those who have installed the previous beta.

This new update bumps the OxygenOS Open beta to version 27 for the OnePlus 3 and version 18 for the OnePlus 3T. This is the third Oreo Open beta release from OnePlus. The last beta release included plenty of bug fixes. This one though, includes some improvements and one or two new features.

For starters, the update will install the October Android security patch on your OnePlus devices. There’s a new UI for the Do Not Disturb feature, which makes it easier to use. There are improvements to Smart Text Selection which now work as they should, Bluetooth performance, and the Gallery app has been updated.

OnePlus has also improved the standby battery usage and fixed bugs in some apps such as Recorder, File Manager, and Weather. The update also includes fixes for camera gestures and extended screenshots. You can check out full changelog at the source link below. OnePlus hasn’t fixed the recently found EngineerMode vulnerability in this build. Perhaps they might release a stable version of OxygenOS with the fix soon.

Now, since this is a beta build, there will be some bugs. In this beta, OnePlus points out to UI bugs that appear as black spaces in the UI. This happens only sometimes and should be fixed in the next beta update.

We expect OnePlus to release a stable version of the Oreo update very soon. The OnePlus 3 and 3T will be the first to get it, apart from the upcoming OnePlus 5T. Yes, OnePlus is set to launch an updated OnePlus 5 later today.
