Users of the unlocked HTC One M9 are in for a treat. HTC has started rolling out the Android 7.0 Nougat update for the One M9. It is available as an OTA update for the unlocked version of the smartphone. Those with carrier locked M9’s will have to wait for early 2017 to get the update.
HTC USA posted on Twitter that the rollout will begin and already users are receiving the Nougat update. The OTA file is around 1.21GB in size and the version number is 4.14.617.6. According to the screenshot provided, the update also includes the latest Android security update and other system enhancements.
Android 7.0 Nougat on the HTC One M9 should bring several new enhancements and features. Users can enjoy improved bundled notifications, better battery life, multi-window mode, and more. If you haven’t received the update yet, head over to the Software Updates section in Settings and keep refreshing.
Once again, only the unlocked HTC One M9 handsets are getting the update. HTC also released the Nougat update for the HTC 10 late last month. Have you received the update yet?
