New third-party launchers keep surfacing on the Android Play Store every now and then, but very few of them have the ability to be synonymous with the words “best” and “popular”.

Nova Launcher is one of them; It’s popular, small in size, easy on RAM and offers a plethora of feature-packed options to people. It’s this peculiarity that allows them to be consistent with updates.

In their last update, we saw a lot of newly added features such as new Android Pie inspired app animations, an option for Google Assistant in the search bar as well as plenty of bug fixes and performance improvements.

Nova Launcher rolled out it’s latest (stable) update v6.1.6. Some of the key highlights of this update include the much-awaited dark mode for the Google Discover page, Numeric Dots (requires Nova Prime), Undo bar when removing desktop items, Allow showing wallpaper in notch area when notification bar is hidden, and the usual bug fixes and improvements.

Nova Launcher has now integrated badges for unread notifications in the app itself, doing away with the need to install the TeslaUnread app.  This is a smart initiative as it reduces the redundancy of installing another app just for unread badge notifications.
