If some recent comments posted by the official Weibo account of Nokia’s China division are to be believed, HMD Global, the recently established Finnish company which holds the license to manufacture under the popular brand’s name, is already planning for future ahead of the recently announced Nokia 6.
They revealed that the SD835 processor just launched, so when theright time comes, they would announce their plans as regards Snapdragon 835 processor equipped phone, not only for Android, but a Windows Movile based one too.
Rumors about two high-end Nokia smartphones have already been doing the rounds for quite some time, with some suggesting the P1 to be one of the upcoming Snapdragon 835 powered devices. And now, the folks responsible for operating the aforementioned Weibo account have all but confirmed the existence of such plans.
They further claimed a Windows Phone flagship to be in the works, which seems to be far-fetched at the moment as HMD Global have only confirmed Android devices for the current calendar year.
The Finnish company will certainly draw encouragement from the fact that Nokia 6 managed to cross 1 million pre-orders within a space of 10 days, underlining the brand’s continued immense popularity. And they will certainly be planning to go big in the near future in a bid to revive the beloved brand. But it remains to be seen whether or not the Chinese social media team’s claims are going to be materialized anytime soon.
