It seems the Canadians won’t have to wait much longer than those in the US to get their hands on the ASUS-made Google Nexus 7 tablet, as online retailer Staples mentions on the pre-order page that the device will be available online as well as in-stores on July 23rd, which is just a week or so after the expected release date of July 13 to July 17 in the US.
Here are the specs of the Nexus 7 in case your memory is hazy:
- 1.3GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor
- 7″ IPS display with 178 degree viewing angles (1280×800 resolution)
- 1GB RAM
- 8GB and 16GB storage options
- 1.2MP front camera, no rear camera
- Wi-Fi, NFC connectivity (no 3G/4G versions)
- 9 hours of HD video playback, 10 hours of web browsing or 10 hours of e-reading
- Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
In case you’re in Canada and would like to order the Nexus 7, head over to the Staples website here. Then hope to God it gets shipped to you as soon as possible, at least before Apple finds a reason to get it banned like the Galaxy Nexus.
