It would seem that Google is taking reports of users experiencing issues such as reboots, battery drain, and Bluetooth not working on the Nexus 4 with Android 4.2.1 pretty seriously, as the company has taken down the factory images (stock firmware images) for the Nexus 4 from the Google Developers website.
The Nexus 4 simply isn’t listed on the factory images page anymore, and even a link we tried to the Android 4.2.1 image for it now shows an error. Now, these issues have been reported on the Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus as well, so they might not be the reason Google took down the Nexus 4 images, but it’s still surprising that they have been removed like this.
Hopefully, when the images become available again, they’ll have these issues resolved and maybe we’ll even see Android 4.2.2 get released alongside. I would say that this could just be an error, but the fact that the download links don’t work and the Nexus 4 has been removed from the list entirely, there is probably something fishy going on.
What do you guys think?
