Ever since the debut of Samsung Galaxy Note 9, many fans of the older Galaxy Note 8 have been asking questions about when some of the cool features on this device will make it to its predecessor.

Well, Samsung heard these calls and started dishing out updates with not just support for AR Emoji, but also super slow-motion video recording, however, not all users of the Note 8 have been able to receive these features since Samsung first released them as part of the September 2018 security patch. If you are on Verizon Wireless, though, the wait is finally over as the Big Red is rolling out a new update that brings not just these two features, but also the latest Android security patch for the month of October 2018.

Even better is that this package isn’t just limited to users of the Galaxy Note 8, but it is also arriving on the Galaxy S8 and S8+ on the same carrier. Where the Note 8’s update has software version N950USQS5CRID, the S8 and S8+ are receiving software versions G950USQS5CRIB and G955USQS5CRIB, respectively.

These updates are airborne, meaning they’ll take a few days before they arrive on all Note 8 and S8 handsets. You can either wait for the OTA download or try forcing the update via the Settings menu of your handset.
