New Sony Xperia phone certified by Bluetooth SIG

A new Sony Xperia smartphone has been spotted on certification site Bluetooth SIG hinting at an imminent launch. The listing doesn’t help us much in terms of the product name or specsheet.

The only thing mentioned in the Bluetooth listing is that the Sony smartphone carries a design name and design model number of PRO20161112. The listing date shown is Jan 31.

Having made its appearance on Bluetooth, we should be able to catch more glimpses of it soon. As is the usual routine, we expect the new Xperia phone to get listed on Wi-Fi Alliance, TENAA and other authorities soon enough.

Meanwhile, we surely are looking forward to MWC event where Sony is reportedly planning to unveil not one but five new smartphones- Yoshino, BlancBright, Keyaki (zelkova), Hinoki (cypress) and Mineo. These, however, are not the actual names of the phones but mere codes.
