Well, we knew Sony won’t be announcing the Xperia Z4 at MWC. But we were expecting the company to announce a new mid-range phone, Xperia M4 aqua, and Sony did unveil it at the event in Barcelona.
Xperia M4 aqua features a 5 inch 1280 x 720p display and sports a 13MP camera at the back. The phone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 615 octa-core CPU built off of the 64 bit architecture and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop. Also, the handset is powered by a 2,400mAh battery which lasts up to 2 days (according to Sony). It will be available in four different colors – white, black, coral and silver. With a rating of IP65/8 the Xperia Aqua M4 is waterproof and dust resistant.
Other specifications of the device include a 5MP front camera, 8/16GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card) and 2GB of RAM.
Sony Xperia M4 aqua will go on sale for €299 and will be available in 80 countries across the world over 100 carrier partners. The phone is expected to hit the stores in the spring of 2015.
