So, the MWC has finally arrived on the scenes bringing with it a whole lot of high-tech wizardry. Along with Samsung and HTC — which are both unveiling heirs to their existing line of products — Huawei has also introduced the successor to its MediaPad X1 tablet.

The MediaPad X2 — which is being dubbed the slimmest 7-inch Android phablet in the world —  was officially announced by Huawei at the first day of the MWC. The device comes with a 64-bit 2.0GHz Kirin 930 octa-core processor and boasts an adequate 5000mAh battery. Equipped with a 13MP rear and 5MP front facing camera, the connectivity has received a boost via 4G LTE and optional dual sim slots.

The device which also features a full HD display will come in two variants, one of which pairs 2GB of RAM with 16GB of internal storage and the other 3GB of RAM with 32GB of internal memory.

According to Richard Yu, CEO, Huawei Consumer Business Group ” Following the success of the Huawei MediaPad X1, and having inherited the signature feature of our large screen design, the Huawei MediaPad X2 represents our faith and commitment in creating better quality products with our technology and innovation. As the second generation of MediaPad, Huawei MediaPad X2 focuses on the five classic applications that are most important to users, which include call quality, social media apps, online shopping, video and camera features to provide an enhanced user experience“.

While the surprisingly sleek tablet/phablet with its 7.28mm thick chassis has been officially launched at the MWC, we have yet to receive any official insight into its availability or price details.
