Motorola has published official release notes for software updates meant for the Moto G7, Moto Z2 Force, Moto Z3 Play and Moto E4 Plus in the U.S.
The Moto G7 is receiving a new update shortly after receiving another update not long ago, with the latest version meant to improve data connection and Wi-Fi hotspot functionality.
On the other hand, the Moto Z2 Force, Moto Z3 Play and Moto E4 Plus are set to receive the latest Android security patch for March 2019. The update seems to be ready, but we haven’t come across reports of the OTA releases for either device.
The update rolling out to the Moto G7 and Moto Z3 Play is based on Android 9 Pie whereas those on the Moto Z2 Force are still treading on Android Oreo grounds. Of course, the device is expected to join the Pie party at some point in Q1 or Q2 2019.
The Moto E4 Plus still runs on Android 7.1 Nougat, which powers the device out of the box.
It’s worth noting that these updates have just been detailed and this does not necessarily mean the rollout has started. That said, it’s likely that the OTA notifications will start showing up next week on various devices, if not over the weekend.
