Finally, the moment many were waiting for has come. Motorola have unleashed their first Intel processor-powered Android device – the Motorola RAZR i, which runs on a 2GHz Intel Medfield processor!
The Medfield processor that first showed up on the Lava XOLO X900 (running at 1.6GHz) was already proven to be quite powerful despite being a single-core chip, so we can only expect the one in the RAZR i to be even better. Intel is touting an architecture optimized for web browsing, especially for Java-based activities, and also reduced power consumption from activities like gaming.
Other specs of the RAZR i include an “edge-to-edge” 4.3-inch AMOLED display, an 8MP camera (the camera app can open in under a second), and a 2,000 mAh battery. There is no indication yet of whether the RARZ i is running Android 4.0 or Android 4.1, though with Intel having only recently ported Jelly Bean to their Medfield chipset, we’ll take a bet on Android 4.0 (with an update to come later).
