We already knew that Motorola Moto Z2 Play has made its way to TENAA as model number XT1710-08. And, now that the good guys over at TENAA have uploaded images and all, we get to see what the device finally looks like. From the outside alone, there doesn’t seem to be that many physical changes to the devices. The listing also reveals the specs of this upcoming flagship.
The front of the Motorola Moto Z2 Play is where the biggest change is noticeable, with the home button/fingerprint scanner now making the transition to an oval shape one from the square button on the Moto Z Play. The main camera bump still continues with the upcoming flagship.
We had really hoped to see an improvement to the battery life on the Moto Z2 Play. But Motorola seems to put more emphasis on how thin the device should be with the Moto Z2 play slimming down to 5.99mm from 7mm on the current gen Moto Z.

This has led to a downgrade in the battery capacity from 3510mAh to 2820mAh on the Moto Z2 Play. Perhaps we’ll get to see a better Moto Mod to take care of this problem, much like how it did with the flagship Moto Z. But then again, we would have simply loved to see a bigger battery.
The device features a 5.5-inch 1080p OLED panel, 64GB on-board storage, 4GB of RAM and the new Snapdragon 630 chipset. We’re pretty excited to learn how the SD630 would perform, but rest assured, you won’t be disappointed. The Moto Z2 Play has been rumored to be priced at 4000CNY and may release in the coming month or so.
