Looks like Motorola is going to release a new Power Pack Moto MOD that is thinner and lighter than before, and they’ll be giving it the ‘Mini’ moniker. The module will also be available in several colors and designs.
The new Power Pack battery MOD will carry the same 2220mAh charge as before, but it will be 20 percent thinner at just 4.9mm. This means that the Mod won’t add a lot of bulk to your Moto Z smartphone. A black variant of this Mod was leaked late last month.
To make things more interesting and fun, Motorola is having a contest to vote for the best design. You can choose between 9 designs, and 2 lucky winners who selected a winning design, will get a free Moto Buds headset. Other prizes are also included, such as a Moto Mobile powerbank and Mickey Kaleidoscope.

The contest runs from today till May 25, but we have no idea when these new Moto Mods will make it to the store shelves. These Mods will probably support the upcoming Moto Z2 series of smartphones as well. To participate and to know the complete rules of the contest, click on the source link.

I wonder why they give so high priority a mod that is already existing (I mean there are several battery mods already available), but no news of the QI (thin!!) mod announced at MWC…
