Update (July 8, 2015): Droid Turbo is now updated to Android 5.1, find OTA update here to manually update. But right now, it doesn’t have root available after you have installed 5.1 update. Though, there are pre-rooted 5.1 system images available that support Mofo root, and you can install this over your Mofo rooted KitKat running Droid Turbo to upgrade to 5.1 with root access retained.
All of us have heard of rooting at one time or another and are probably familiar with the benefits of the process. The benefits, which include custom ROMs, administrative rights, or using apps like Tasker to automate stuff — and we haven’t even scratched the surface yet — are immense. It might make you wonder — Why doesn’t everyone root their devices.
Because rooting voids your manufacturer warranty. Also, if not carefully performed, their is a fair chance of the rooting process turning your device into a very expensive paper weight i.e. bricking it, and that’s why we wait for developers and rooting experts to successfully root their devices — and share their methods with us — before touching our own.
Well, right along the same path, Various posts on XDA and youtube videos point in the direction of a brand new rooting. If true, they imply that the Motorola Droid Turbo has finally been successfully rooted. If true, turbo users may just be able to take their android experience to the next level but the rooters — for want of a better term — are probably waiting for confirmation that the device can be rooted with a fair degree of success before they make the method public.
More on this as we get it. Until then enjoy a first look at the rooted droid turbo.
