There’s some good news for Moto E and Moto Maxx owners today: Motorola’s commitment to timely software updates continues to excel as they are now working to expand Android 5.0 Lollipop to two more devices.
The company released Android 5.0 updates to Moto G (1st and 2nd generation) last month in India. While the Moto X 2nd generation received the Lollipop update in December last year. Motorola announced on its official blog yesterday that it has started rolling out Android Lollipop 5.0 to Moto E and Moto Maxx users in Brazil and Mexico. Only a few users will receive the update at first as Motorola has started soak testing on these handsets. The soak tests represent small test groups, and if the update receives a positive feedback and review from these owners, the company will make plans to make it available to a larger group. If you live outside any of these cities and are using these handsets, you too can expect the updates shortly.
Motorola handsets bought at the retail stores will be the first to receive the Lollipop update. Moto E users can prepare for the upgrade by checking that they have installed the latest version of Motorola Update services from the Play Store.
