How to get the Chapel Key in Mortal Shell 2
The easiest way to find the Chapel Key is to begin at the Mushroom Village beacon. From there, follow the path toward the area northeast of the Ritual Grounds dungeon. The surroundings eventually change into an area recognizable by several dancing enemies gathered around a large bonfire.
Step 1
Start at the Mushroom Village beacon and head along the path. As you leave the beacon area, move toward the right-hand side rather than taking the central route.

Step 2
Keep to the right side of the path as you continue forward. This route eventually leads downward toward the lower level where the rope bridge can be found.

Step 3
Descend to the lower level. Once you have made your way down, look for the rope bridge ahead.

Step 4
Cross the rope bridge and continue following the route along the edge of the area. You are now heading toward the section northeast of the Ritual Grounds dungeon.

Step 5
Continue around the edge until you reach a large archway. This structure is the key landmark for finding the Chapel Key.

Step 6
When you reach the large archway, look for the side with the steps. You need to pass through the archway from this particular side.

Step 7
Go through the archway from the side with the steps. Doing this reveals a previously hidden statue that is easy to overlook if you approach the structure from the wrong direction.

Step 8
Interact with the statue. The statue gives you the Chapel Key, adding it to your inventory.
This is the main trick behind the Chapel Key location. If you reach the archway but cannot find the item, make sure you have approached it from the side with the steps rather than simply walking around the structure.
How to use the Chapel Key near Mushroom Village
Once you have collected the key, return to the Mushroom Village beacon. The locked door that previously could not be opened is located close to the beacon.
Step 9
Travel back toward the Mushroom Village beacon after collecting the Chapel Key.

Step 10
Locate the locked door near the beacon. With the Chapel Key in your inventory, interact with the door to unlock it.

The key therefore serves as an exploration item rather than something you need to equip or activate manually. Once you have obtained it, simply use the corresponding locked door near Mushroom Village.
The Chapel Key is a small but useful exploration discovery in Mortal Shell 2, particularly if you have already encountered the locked door near the Mushroom Village beacon. Start from the Mushroom Village beacon, keep right, descend to the lower level, cross the rope bridge, and follow the edge to the large archway. Approach that archway from the side with the steps to reveal the hidden statue, then interact with it to collect the key.
Afterward, return to the Mushroom Village beacon and unlock the nearby door. Once you know the statue trick, this previously confusing locked-door puzzle becomes a straightforward exploration task.
