More Nokia 5 variants certified by FCC

The Nokia 5 should soon be available for purchase as new variants of the smartphone have just been certified by the FCC.

HMD Global announced the Nokia 5 in February, and it is supposed to go on sale in May, but pre-orders have already begun. We aren’t sure of an exact release date, but since the device has already been certified by FCC, it should be out in early May.

We saw the Nokia 5 (TA-1024) appear on Geekbench recently, with decent scores for a mid-range smartphone. Now, devices with model numbers TA – 1027 and TA – 1053, have shown up on the FCC listings.

Both of these devices are Nokia 5 variants, but we have no idea why they’re carrying different model numbers. They could be region specific, or perhaps dual-SIM versions. We will find out soon enough. For a mid-range smartphone, the Nokia 5 is very well designed and screams quality. It would also run Android 7.1.1 out of the box, which is awesome.
