It’s been several weeks since the first stable global MIUI 10 update arrived on the Xiaomi Redmi 5 Plus, a device that is known as Redmi Note 5 in India. But it’s just now that Xiaomi has begun rolling out the same update to the Chinese variant of this device.

The update is arriving as MIUI 10.1.1.0.NEGCNFI and it brings the full-screen experience to your device as well as plenty of AI machine learning. Like the global variant, this update to MIUI 10 also brings new system sounds that are inspired by nature, where you can choose between forest, beach, summer night, stove fire and drizzle. After the update, you will get suggestions for connecting your Redmi 5 Plus to nearby devices, the flagship IoT platform for smart devices, as well as smart alarms that also include weather info.

Besides the agony of having to wait this long for the arrival of the stable MIUI 10, Redmi 5 Plus users in China will still have to keep waiting for the release of Android 8.1 Oreo because the latest MIUI 10.1.1 update is still based on Android 7.1 Nougat.

A similar MIUI 10.1.1.0.MXGCNFI update is also rolling out to the Chinese variant of the Xiaomi Mi 4. The update has just been released to select users for first impressions before a wider rollout follows suit later this week.
