How to Cross the Big Gap – Step-by-Step
Step 1: Get the Pit Preserver Trinket
Travel to Knox’s Bayou (swamp zone). Head to the northeast corner of the swamp map near the area with lily pads and the giant Knox’s base. Look for a swamp shack — inside you’ll find a kindly hag merchant who sells the Pit Preserver trinket for 1,000 bones. This is the cheapest option; Pinino in Ossex sells it for ~5,000 bones.
Step 2: Prepare Your Umbrella
From Eastern Heath, Grassland, go down.
Find the yellow umbrella in Mourner’s Mile Knight’s Rest, very nearby the gap.
It’s hidden in a bush.
Make sure your umbrella has max charges . The candles on the ground along the way will help recharge it.
Step 3: Clear the Area
Return to Eastern Heath.
Then burrow through and go up to Bucker’s Bluff.
Eliminate the enemy blocking the path before attempting the jump. You cannot safely attempt the crossing with enemies active.
Step 4: Execute the Jump
Stand at the edge of the gap and perform this exact input sequence:

Jump immediately after
The Pit Preserver will bump you up one time, allowing you to pass the gap you cannot cross by jumping alone.
