MetroPCS and T-Mobile LG G Stylo update: Download latest software version MS63110j and H63110j

If you own an LG G Stylo over at T-Mobile or MetroPCS, then we have some good news for you. As you cannot take OTA if you have rooted your G Stylo and have TWRP recovery also installed, a TWRP flashable update will only serve you great, and that’s what we have today for you here.

Take care that your device’s model no. is MS631 or H631. The software version for both devices is MS63110j and H63110j respectively, separate file for each.

Because you will lose root access after flashing the software update file in TWRP, you will need to root it again, hence just flash the root file provided below.

The update basically fixes the serious vulnerability called Stagefright for both devices, and that’s why you shouldn’t be ignoring it.

Backup important files stored on your device before proceeding with the steps below, so that in case something goes wrong you’ll have backup of all your important files. Sometimes, Odin installation may delete everything on your device!

Step by step Guide

Required? Make sure you have TWRP recovery installed on your LG G Stylo. If not, then find it here.

Step 1. Download the v10J software update file and the SuperSU file from above.

Step 2. Transfer the update and SuperSU file to your LG G Stylo. Remember the files’ location.

Step 3. Boot your G Stylo into recovery mode. If you are rooted, you can use Quick Boot app from play store.

Step 4. On TWRP recovery (v2.8.6.0 or newer), tap on Install > locate the update file and tap on it. Then do the Swipe action at bottom to begin flashing the update. The update will start installing, just hang on.

→ Also install the SuperSU file just the same way.

Step 5. When it’s done, you will be back in recovery’s homescreen. Btw, TWRP won’t be back on homescreen, do this. First, tap on wipe cache/dalvik cache and then when that is done, tap on Home button to return to homecreen.

Step 6. Tap on System > Reboot. Your G3 will restart now.

That’s it. Wait for G Stylo to finish booting up, it may take some time. Once it does, check the Settings > About device. You should have v10j as new software version. Congos!
