Meizu has introduced a new A-series line of smartphones with the launch of Meizu A5. Priced at ¥699 ($105), the phone is targeted at the budget section and is available in black, gold, and silver colors.
Meizu Charm Blue A5 sports a 5-inch HD display with 1280 x 720 resolution. It is powered by quad-core Mediatek’s MT6737 SoC clocked at 1.3 GHz and paired with ARM Mali-T720 processor.
On the imaging department, Meizu has endowed the phone with an 8MP primary camera at the back and a 5MP selfie shooter. The phone packs in 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 4.1. A 3,060mAh battery keeps the lights on.
Meanwhile, Meizu’s flagship phone Pro 7 is slated for a release soon. The highlight of the phone is its secondary display on the rear of the phone. This display could primarily be used to display notifications and enabling consumers to use it when the battery is low as Meizu had filed a patent for the same too.
