After updating the LG V30 and V30+ handsets sold in the U.S., the Korean company is now seeding the OS to those using the V30 from Canada.
LG started rolling out Android Oreo to the V30 sets in December 2017, but this was only in Korea. Other markets had to wait until early 2018 before receiving the update, but those in Canada have had to wait until early April to get a similar treat.
Better late than never, so they say. Unfortunately, there’s still no OTA update, rather, you can only upgrade your LG V30 to the latest Android Oreo using your PC through LG Bridge. To do this, you need to download and install LG Bridge on your PC and connect your V30 to the PC using a USB cable, but do remember to enable File Transfer mode.
The update installs software version H93320e and weighs a massive 3.16GB. And just so you know, despite the long wait, you still get Oreo 8.0 and not 8.1. Besides Oreo, the update also brings March’s Android security patch.
Although there’s no word on when, it shouldn’t be long before the update starts rolling out over the air.
