According to a new report out of China, several smartphone manufacturers are competing for orders of the Pixel 3. Companies such as LG, TCL, and Coolpad, are competing with HTC for the orders.
Currently, the Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones are made by HTC. The Pixel 2 devices to come out later this year, would also be manufactured by HTC. However, HTC had only secured a 2 year contract with Google to make Pixel devices.

With the Pixel 3, which should be released in 2018, Google could tie up with a different manufacturer. Google had done the same with their Nexus line-up of devices. Yes, it is different with the Pixel series, as the entire phone is designed by Google, but just assembled and made by another manufacturer.
The report goes on to say that LG is most likely to win the orders to make the Pixel 3 devices. It’s not confirmed yet in any way, just speculation. HTC did a great job with the Pixel, and has managed to ship over 2 million units of both the variants since its September 2016 launch.
