February 18, 2019: Sprint is rolling out a new software update to the LG Stylo 3 handset that installs the latest Android security patch available for the device. Although not the latest version available from Google, the LS777ZVH build installs January 2019 patches alongside bug fixes and general system optimizations.
According to Sprint, the update has been around since late last month, but it’s only now that it has come to our attention. If anything, it’s likely that you’ve already received the OTA by now.

LG Stylo 3 Android Oreo and Android Pie updates
- Ineligible for both Oreo and Pie updates
The LG Stylo 3 and Stylo 3 Plus run Android Nougat out of the box and to date, none of them has made the switch to Android Oreo, so let’s not even debate about the chances of the duo receiving Android Pie.
To be precise, the duo won’t be going past the current Android 7.0 Nougat. If you want a newer OS on a Stylo device, your best bet is the newer LG Stylo 4 that runs Oreo 8.1 out of the box.
