It’s here folks. The LG Optimus Nexus has finally made an appearance on the internet with a bunch of leaked pictures. And as suggested in earlier reports, it does look a lot like the Galaxy Nexus.
The leaked pictures came in from two different sources. The first pictures that leaked came from XDA and had a casing over the phone which didn’t let us see much of the phone’s design but it did hint us the version of Android it was running, a follow-up build to Jelly Bean itself – Android 4.1.2. Also the source claimed that the device model number will indeed be LG-E960, which we also pointed earlier when it was found in FCC filings.
Have a look at the pictures with casing around below:
Now the pictures that came from the second source are more interesting and clearly shows the Galaxy Nexus inspired design of LG’s Optimus G based Nexus phone. The phone has no branding on the front — the all black look which always looked great on the GNex. The back of the Optimus Nexus is where it differentiates itself from the GNex. It has the same crystal backing like the one on LG’s Optimus G. And the way it looks in the picture we can guess that the back is sealed. Which means no removable battery and maybe no expandable storage too. Check out the pictures below:
In the first batch of leaked pictures the phone is running on Android 4.1.2 build. But in the pictures from second source it’s running on ‘JellyBeanMR1’ build which is pretty close to the Jelly Bean build we spotted in AnTuTu benchmarks running on a mystery device codenamed ‘Manta’.
Now all rumors floating around for LG’s Optimus branded Nexus phone are connecting. And with the leaked pictures making an appearance today we can assure ourselves that the phone is real and should officially be announced either later this month or in November.
